Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the animated video method in enhancing vocabulary learning among students at Noble Technical Institute in Erbil. With the increasing integration of multimedia tools in educational settings, understanding how animated videos influence vocabulary acquisition is essential for developing effective teaching strategies. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design, the research involved two groups of students: one receiving traditional vocabulary instruction and the other engaging with animated video content. Pre- and post-tests were administered to assess vocabulary retention and comprehension. Key findings indicate that students exposed to animated videos demonstrated significantly higher levels of vocabulary acquisition compared to those taught through conventional methods. Qualitative feedback from students also highlighted the engaging nature of animated videos, which helped contextualize vocabulary in a dynamic and visually stimulating manner. The study suggests that incorporating animated videos into vocabulary instruction can enhance learning outcomes and foster greater student motivation. Recommendations for educators include integrating multimedia resources in language curricula to support diverse learning styles and improve vocabulary retention among students.
