Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of teacher training programs on the professional development of English Language Teaching (ELT) practitioners in Pakistan. A mixedmethods approach was utilized, including quantitative data from a survey of 70 teachers
and qualitative insights from in-depth interviews with 30 teachers. The findings suggest that teacher training programs had a positive impact on teaching skills, pedagogical knowledge, and classroom management. However, challenges such as large class sizes, lack of resources, and inadequate administrative support were identified as barriers tosuccessful implementation. Teachers expressed a need for ongoing support and context-specific training. The results offer valuable insights for improving future teacher training programs in Pakistan.
