Abstract

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) plays a critical role in Afghanistan by promoting security, fostering economic cooperation, and addressing transnational threats like terrorism and drug trafficking. Its involvement is pivotal for regional stability as it seeks to mitigate the Afghan conflict's spillover effects and strengthen ties among member states. Through coordinated diplomatic and security initiatives, the SCO aims to stabilize Afghanistan and enhance Eurasian geopolitical resilience. This study utilizes secondary and primary data to examine the SCO's role in Afghanistan and its impact on regional stability. The SCO's engagement in Afghanistan is crucial for promoting regional stability, addressing security threats, and fostering economic development amidst complex geopolitical challenges. To enhance its effectiveness, the SCO should develop a comprehensive Afghanistan policy that integrates security, economic initiatives, and political inclusivity to stabilize the region.
